Hi everyone,
i realized how much mesh matters for a cfd problem. i'm currently an user of interFoam and using version 2.3.0. i was doing good with relatively coarse meshes and recently i came across a problem where i'm supposed to model the flow into a small chamber through a pipe (3D). the flow outside is time varying and wavy in nature. i'm using snappy hex mesh to resolve the local grid resolution required (to a max of 10 cells) and 'm not using any boundary layers (to keep problem simple). the mesh transistion is carried out in 8 steps from outer coarse mesh to inner fine mesh. and 2 ncellsBetweenLevels. The problem is that if i'm successfullly able to carry out the feature resolution, there exist some faces which remain unconnected between cells with small empty wedges. if i continue simulating with it, some pressure gradient is forming. checkMesh is not really helpful where it posts everything ok, visual inspection being impossible, almost 6m cells. i request someones advice here. |
