Hi everyone,
I'm undertaking a project in CFD regarding drag reduction around a square cylinder with a spanwise sinusoidal profile. I have been advised to begin by creating a model of a square cylinder (no sinusoidal profile) using OpenFOAM and blockMesh. Having no previous experience with OpenFOAM, let alone CFD, I went through the necessary procedures to install it and began going through the tutorials in the user guide. After reading the tutorials, I have a fair idea of where to start. But before I do, is there any advice that anybody here can offer me? I was thinking of using this tutorial: http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/cavity.php#x5-40002.1, and modifying the code to suit my application. Would I be right in doing this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |
