hello! I am using a optional software as mesher. It's Salome. When I install salome, I found a problem, confome the comment below, that said I did not have enough disk space to install the program on my ubuntu 13.10 64-bit disc. in fact I have 25 GB of space for installation. The program is failing to read the free space I have on my record. Anyone know how to solve this? Thank you for your attention!

below is the error message:

"

This looks either like it needs root to install or there a directory/file permissions issue.

I had same error. I started instalation Salome v.7.4.0 from my download directory "home/mila/download/InstallWizard...." and obtain this error. I simply moved this installWizard folder to new directory and started install Salome from this directory.

My new directory of Salome where I started installation from

home/mila/Salome/Install/InstallWizard....

Installation directory:

home/mila/Salome/Salome_v7.4.0

In my case it works But some library errors occurs

Hope this will help another "Salomers/Foamers"

Best regards

Miloslav

I also got issues installing salome 7.4.0 on an VM Ubuntu 13.10 with Win7 host.

First problem occured when the install wizard should be run (relating to http://www.salome-platform.org/forum/forum_9/542883894)
when trying to run ./runInstall there was a syntax error. Then i got to this page and i tried

./runInstall -b

and it worked!

BUT now after installation i get another error trying to run salome with "runSalome"

Quote:
estang@ubuntu:~/salome_7.4.0$ source env_products.sh
estang@ubuntu:~/salome_7.4.0$ runSalome
/home/estang/salome_7.4.0/Python-2.7.3/bin/python: 3: /home/estang/salome_7.4.0/Python-2.7.3/bin/python: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting ")")
it's the same syntax error that occured when i tried to install salome first.

i also set up the advised launch script but when running it i get the following

Quote:
estang@ubuntu:~/salome_7.4.0$ salome
Fatal Python error: Py_Initialize: Unable to get the locale encoding
File "/home/estang/salome_7.4.0/Python-2.7.3/lib/python2.7/encodings/__init__.py", line 123
raise CodecRegistryError,\
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Abgebrochen (Speicherabzug geschrieben)
can anyone help me please?
