I have a 3D mesh (a box provided with an inlet pipe and an outlet one) for which I need only a slice of it (2D) to make calculations, along the inlet/outlet pipes, since in my case the 2D can be assumed a good approximation. I would like to extract the slice from the 3D mesh I have available, in order to have the correspondent 2D mesh at a fixed plane. Does anyone know how to perform this in a clear way, using the OpenFOAM tools? I already tried to have a look to the meshing tools, but I haven't a clear idea on how to use them for my purpose. Thanks in advance. alex
