Hi, everyone;
I am using OpenFOAM 2.2.2 to simulate a self-propulsion of DARPA Suboff model. For this submarine model, I am not sure to construct it with SnappyHexMesh or Gmsh or other mesh generators. Can anyone tell me which is the best choice? P.S: the attachment is the skematic of DARPA Suboff model |

Hey Kai Liang
Even I am new to OpenFOAM and from my limited knowledge I can tell you that you can use snappy, but you will have issues at the edges of your geometry. I faced the same issue, so what I did was, I used Salome to mesh and import it into OpenFOAM. Salome produces good meshes and you have a variety of options to play with. Try out Salome. Hope I was of some help. |

Hi, Rohan V.G.,
Thanks for your share. In the following link: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...tl-suboff.html, Linnemann has given me a salome script to construct the suboff. Maybe it is of use for you, too. Wish you enjoy your life everyday Kai |
