Dear sir:

Recently, I'm considering to use openFoam to conduct the one-way coupling steady flow simulation using OpenFOAM. Supposing that only buoyant force is required to be considered, is that feasible?

My case is the steady turbulent flow (calculated using simpleFoam).....In the past, I would use fluent to calculate and obtain the date of flow. And then export this data to the EDEM (then just leave CFD calculation aside)to calculate the particles' motions..

Hello Huqimeng,

OpenFoam is very capable of handling one-way coupling. The implementation of DEM-type particles is maybe less efficient than dedicated codes, but useful nonetheless.
I don't remember specifically whether buoyancy is already implemented, but you can:

2) implement the buoyancy model based on the other particle force models
