Hi I'm new to both Linux Ubuntu and OpenFOAM ( in fact its the only reason why Im having to use Linux). I just finished installing OpenFOAM and im in the general installation section page of OpenFOAM. I am currently trying to find the file $HOME/OpenFOAM directory in order to install a subdirectory <User>201 , but when I go on the Terminal and type in $HOME/OpenFOAM it says "No such file in directory".
I try to reinstall OpenFOAM from the very beginning, but it says: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done openfoam201 is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 5 not upgraded Help! Why can't I find the OpenFOAM directory? How can I fix this? Thanks -Estes |

Greetings Estes and welcome to the forum!
I'm assuming you are following the instructions from here: http://www.openfoam.com/download/ubuntu.php It's quite simple: just run the commands they show you. The text is simply a description of the steps themselves, while the commands do everything for you. Best regards, Bruno
