Hello,

Could someone offer some assistance for installation and running on Linux OS? I have installed it but have questions when running the tutorials. The main issue I think is my limited experience with Linux.

Hello,

Got FoamX to run by clicking the icon and have loaded the tutorial files ok, but it wont start by command. Also paraFoam will not start by command. Are there some settings that I can check ?

Greetings Stephen and welcome to the forum!

From your first post, I assumed you were looking for something similar to customer support, since you gave little information... but now I guess not.

OK, let's take a few steps back... which Linux Distribution are you using and which OpenFOAM version have you installed?

As for FoamX, it was discontinued a few years ago It's no longer compatible with the latest OpenFOAM 1.7.1/x versions. Currently the closest things to GUIs (they aren't as complete as FoamX was) for OpenFOAM, which are free and open source, are:
