i just finish install openFOAM 1.6 on Ubuntu 9.10
when i follow user guide to run example "cavity" the step " blockMesh" i enter the dictionary "tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity/constant/polyMesh" i key the command "blockMesh" the i got a message /***************** Message *********************/ Create time Create mesh for time = 0 Cannot find file "points" in directory "constant/polyMesh" From function Time::findInstance(const fileName&, const word&, const IOobject::readOption) in file db/Time/findInstance.C at line 148. FOAM exiting /************************************************/ how can i to solve the problem ? |

Greetings nt31921a,
You should have ran blockMesh from inside the folder "tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity/" and not "tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity/constant/polyMesh/". The user guide just points out where the blockMeshDict file is, not that you should run it from there Best regards, Bruno
