Hi,
I am having some trouble with my OF installation. I got the systems admin to install OF in the usr/local/ directories because it won't fit in my $HOME directory (not enough allocated space). But the problem with this is that when i try to run FoamX it gives me this error: tera35:~> Starting NameServer with inet:tera35:1234 ... error: cannot open output file /usr/local/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.3/.OpenFOAM-1.3/apps/FoamX/ns.ref and it just hangs. Would i be right to say that its because as a user i can't write to the usr/local/ directories that this is why i'm getting the error?? Or am i way off and it is some other problem? Any help would be great Thanks Simon |

If you are running a 'central' installation (i.e. not under your home directory) copy the .OpenFOAM-1.3 directory to your home directory and 'source' the ~/.OpenFOAM-1.3/bashrc instead.
Having a local setup directory instructs FoamX to use that space for writing any files. |
