Hello,

I want to install OpenFOAM-1.4.1 in cluster with ia64 or x86_64 CPU with Lunix OS. Can I use the Binary files that are available in the site or I need to Compile OpenFOAM?

Depends what you want to do.

In your case, if you really need then, download obviously the source package for x64 platform.

However, I pressume, you are not going to use it right now, just download binaries. Sources are only needed if you want to modify the code or you want to build whole OpenFOAM from scratch, for example, you want to tweak it for best platform performance.

If you are a beginner, I'm sure binaries will do their job.

Krystian

Thank you for your answer. In fact I tar the 64-bit OF with its binary files without compiling. but after checking a sample "icoFoam" it gave me this error,

>blockMesh . cavity
blockMesh: error while loading shared libraries: libmpi.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Would you please tell me what is the problem?

thank you
