When I start up FoamX I get the following message:
nsd: error while loading shared libraries: libelf.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I checked in the usr/lib and there is no libelf.so file.
Has anyone faced this problem? Can I soft link it to some other file?

suggestions appreciated.

(i)search libelf.so.0 in the whole file system. If "libelf" is intalled than u can easily find that then put it in the directory which your error is searching in
(ii) else you need to install "libelf" which comes with installer cd than do (i)

I checked the system for libelf - no luck which is bizzare.

There is a site where I can get libelf 0.8.do you know whether that is an improvement on libelf.so.0?

If not, where in the CD should I look for libelf w/o having to untar numerous files. I dont see a file or folder that has "lib" files in it.

Thanks

found it. Thanks. Still surprising that this lib file did not load when SuSE 10 was installed.
