I am trying to setup a numerical wave tank using ../OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/solvers/surfaceTracking
results from foamInstallationTest show that everything looks ok ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ..... ..... Base configuration ok. Critical systems ok. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However, when I try to compile /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/Allwmake I get well into the build and then + ./Allwmake + cd solvers + wmake all + wmake surfactantFoam make[2]: `/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/turbDyMF oam' is up to date. make[1]: `/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/surfacta ntFoam' is up to date. + wmake libso freeSurface make[2]: `/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/transien tSimpleFoam' is up to date. `/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so' is up to date. + wmake sloshingInterTrackFoam make[2]: `/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/nonNewto nianIcoFoam' is up to date. make[2]: `/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/icoDyMFo am' is up to date. g++ -m32 -Dlinux -DDP -Wall -Wno-strict-aliasing -Wextra -Wno-unused-parameter -Wold-style-cast -O3 -DNoRepository -ftemplate-depth-40 -I../freeSurface -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/finiteArea/lnInclude -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/finiteVolume/lnInclude -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/meshTools/lnInclude -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/dynamicMesh/lnInclude -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/tetDecompositionFiniteElement/lnIn clude -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/tetDecompositionMotionSolver/lnInc lude -IlnInclude -I. -I/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/src/OpenFOAM/lnInclude -fPIC -pthread Make/linuxGccDPOpt/sloshingInterTrackFoam.o -L/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt \ -lfreeSurface -lfiniteArea -lfiniteVolume -ldynamicMesh -lmeshTools -lOpenFOAM -ldl -lm -o /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/sloshingI nterTrackFoam /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `typeinfo for Foam::faceTetPolyPatchFaceDecomp' /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `Foam::faceTetPolyPatchFaceDecomp::patch() const' /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `Foam::tetPolyMeshFaceDecomp::operator!=(Foam::tet PolyMeshFaceDecomp const&) const' /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `Foam::faceTetPolyPatchFaceDecomp::typeName' /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `typeinfo for Foam::tetDecompositionMotionSolver' /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `Foam::tetPolyPatchInterpolationFaceDecomp::tetPol yPatchInterpolationFaceDecomp( Foam::faceTetPolyPatchFaceDecomp const&)' /home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libfreeSurface.so: undefined reference to `Foam::GeometricField<foam::vector<double>, Foam::tetPolyPatchField, Foam::tetPointMesh>::debug' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [/home/mdp28/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/applications/bin/linuxGccDPOpt/sloshing InterTrackFoam] Error 1 Any suggestions on what might be going wrong would be greatly appreciated. |

Dear Michael
I'm planning to use OpenFOAM for the analysis of a wave energy converter and an interested to hear if you got your simulated wave tank going in the end. If you have any other advice it would be much appreciated too! Hope to hear from you soon Ned |
