Hi evreybody,
I encounter some problems trying to compile Paraview. I have the following error (see below). I don't know what's it is talking about: "Cannot determine repository type. Please set UPDATE_TYPE to 'cvs' or 'svn'. CTest update will not work". Some data about me: [root@wobwslx2 qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.1]# uname -a Linux wobwslx2 2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp #1 SMP Tue Jan 23 12:49:51 EST 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux ep4@wobwslx2:~/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty$ qmake --version QMake version 2.01a Using Qt version 4.3.1 in /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.3.1/lib For information, i have also a version 4.4.3 of Qt. Trying to using it following the indications of other posts, i have the same error. Thank you for your help. Hi again,
after some manipulations, Paraview begin now to compile withoout the problem mentioned in my previous post. Nevertheless, the compilation stops after a while with the following error: Building CXX object VTK/Common/CMakeFiles/vtkCommon.dir/vtkTypeUInt8Array.o [ 12%] Building CXX object VTK/Common/CMakeFiles/vtkCommon.dir/vtkTypeUInt32Array.o [ 12%] Building CXX object VTK/Common/CMakeFiles/vtkCommon.dir/vtkTypeUInt64Array.o [ 12%] Building CXX object VTK/Common/CMakeFiles/vtkCommon.dir/vtkTypeFloat32Array.o [ 12%] Building CXX object VTK/Common/CMakeFiles/vtkCommon.dir/vtkTypeFloat64Array.o [ 12%] Building CXX object VTK/Common/CMakeFiles/vtkCommon.dir/vtkCommonInstantiator.o Linking CXX shared library ../../bin/libvtkCommon.so [ 12%] Built target vtkCommon make: *** [all] Fehler 2 done What's the problem with libvtkCommon.so ? Good morning,
I still have the same error... I have found the file libvtkCommon.so in /OpenFOAM/ThirdParty/ParaView3.3-cvs/platforms/linux64Gcc/bin with other files like H5detect, libQtTesting.so, libvtktiff.so, ... which are mentioned in my terminal like libvtkCommon.so but without leading to an error. I don't know if this information can be usefull for someone to help me. Eric |

hi Ikariya,
as i remember the main problem i got with paraview and the .OpenFOAM file, was due to the fact that qmake pointed to the older version of qt which was installed beside 4.3.5 on my computer. aram |

all the errors mentioned above w.r.t buildParaview-cvs are coz of QT not being 4.3.5
As per the README it can be 4.3.x however, i could only get it to work with 4.3.5. Try installing the same and then set the paths for QT to be correct so that it is picked rather than the old one! Then build Paraview and all will be ok. |
