I am installing openFOAM 2112 on linux openSUSE leap 15.3 in user directories (not root system directories). Compiling from source. I have both an openFOAM firectory and a Thirdparty code directory under openfoam directory as per the installation directions.
I am finding that ./Allwmake accesses the Thirdparty directories, as expected, but compiles new versions of software, such as openmpi, that already exist in my system (root) files. Even optional apps like METIS are being recompiled in user directories when they are already installed as system files. I have all of the optional software installed in system. I am a long term user of openfoam and I don't remember this issue as being that prevalent. The "make" process does not say that sysyem apps are not right version or that there are any problems with them. It does not seem to be looking for them. or can't find them. How to alter "make" files to have compilation process look for already installed system apps rather than recreating apps in user directory? thanks, tom kosvic |
