Dear all

I am trying to install OpenFOAM/5.x using OpenMPI/2.1.2-GCC-6.4.0 on our cluster for a specific user. Our machines are Intel SkyLake/CascadeLake generations running on CentOS 7.6.

All dependencies are loaded as modules in the build script (attached). I also set various env. vars. to point at the specific installation folders of the dependencies, to ensure that the build procedure finds them properly; but, I have two issues during the build:

1. The CGAL and METIS are not found, though they are loaded. For MESTIS, I even set an env. var. pointing at the top installation folder:
   

   module load CGAL/4.11.1-foss-2018a-Python-3.6.4
   module load METIS/5.1.0-foss-2018a #-32bitIDX
   export METIS_ARCH_PATH=$EBROOTMETIS

   Not sure, if there exists a similar env. var. for CGAL? Nevertheless, the installation continues until the 2nd issue below
   
2. After few minutes, I get the following error message:
   

   /myApps/software/binutils/2.28-GCCcore-6.4.0/bin/ld.gold: error: --add-needed is not supported but is required for libPstream.so in /myData/easybuild/work/OpenFOAM/from-source/OpenFOAM-5.x/platforms/linux64GccDPInt64Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so
   collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
   make: *** [/myData/easybuild/work/OpenFOAM/from-source/OpenFOAM-5.x/platforms/linux64GccDPInt64Opt/lib/libfiniteVolume.so] Error 1

For the two above issues, I am reaching out to you, and would like to know if you have already seen this before? And how to remedy this?

I have attached a compressed file containing the build script, and the stdout/stderr during the installation.
