What is the best linux based OS for OpenFoam? Or any recommendations? I am currently on windows and I have ran into too many problems so I'm making the switch to linux.
I have some experience with Ubuntu but I have heard of some problems with Paraview.. If I was to go with Ubuntu, any advice on which version to go with? Thanks |

Therefore, if you don't have any preference, and if you are not afraid of experimenting a new OS, I would kindly suggest OpenSUSE (the versions being maintained).

FWIW, I run OF7 and OFv1906 with Paraview 5.6 in Ubuntu 18.04.
A Qt version mismatch error that I and others have seen on building Paraview 5.6 in Ubuntu 18.04 is solved: Qt5, OpenFOAM-7 and -v1906, and Ubuntu 18.04. Good luck. |
