Hello Foamers.
My institute offers account on Microsoft azure cloud computing facility. Before further proceeding, I would like to ask, Is it possible to install OpenFOAM 2.2.0 on microsoft azure? Do they provide root privilege, since we need root privilege for installing some necessary packages ? Note: I specifically need OpenFOAM 2.2.0, any other advanced version are not of use currently. Thank you. |

Quick answer: You can try using Ubuntu 18.04 on Azure and then follow the instructions given here: https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/I...u#Ubuntu_18.04 - it's for OpenFOAM 2.2.2 and Ubuntu 18.04, but perhaps they will work for 2.2.0, if you change any occurrences from 2.2.2 to 2.2.0. I haven't tested yet, but perhaps it will work.
