Hi everybody

I'm trying to get my hands on the nextRelease of foamExtend 4.0 to test the oversetmesh functionality. But the compillation failed. Here's what I did:

I set up a brand new VM Ubuntu 16.04, cloned foamExtend 4.0 and compiled it accordingly to the description in the openfoam-wiki with Allwmake.firstInstall. I tried some basic tutorials and so far it worked.


Then I checked out the nextRelease branch and compiled it with Allwmake. Now I expected the overset tutorials to work. But the solvers don't seem to work. Attached xou find my log file "log.make" I recorded with ./Allwmake > log.make


Also there's my log from foamInstallationTest attached.


Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Quick answer: You need to either use a different "WM_COMPILER" option, or you need to clean up the previous build.

The problem here is that a ton of changes have happened and having the previous build still at the "linux64GccDPOpt" folders, is resulting in confusion on the wmake script-stack.

To do a clean up, first run:

wclean all

from the main folder.
