Since sharing a pc with other users (win only users), I am wondering how is the performance (parallel) of OF run in Linux compared to OF run in Virtualbox.
Any experience?

Quick answer: I don't have any recent numbers, but the last ones I have are posted here: https://sourceforge.net/p/bluecfd-sc...ntimes202_211/ - and they were for 32-bit comparison, but they might still be comparable today.
Based on a couple of quick calculations, based on those values, it's possible to expect 5 to 25% slower simulation time, when using virtualization, instead of running a Linux Distribution directly as a normal installation.

On Phoronix, for more general benchmarks, you can also find several benchmarks for VirtualBox vs native installations: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pa...h&q=VirtualBox - The most recent on this topic was the following, which also includes WSL: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pa...-february-2018
