Hi,
So I have installed OpenFOAM 1612+ on Windows 7 using following link. http://www.openfoam.com/download/ins...ry-windows.php This is my first time trying to run OpenFOAM on Windows, so according to instruction, I just went straight to OF_Env_Create after installation. Then I got the error as shown in pic1. I tried to run OpenFOAM_Start afterwards but obviously, it did not work, the terminal showed up for short time with some red sentences then disappeared as shown in pic2 (I tried running as a user and admin for both OF_Env_Create and OpenFOAM_Start). I checked VisualMachine installed on Desktop, it turns out that the default system (Ubuntu 32-bit) is not running, so I tried to start manually but got error code as below, please also see log file as attached for more details. Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: ConsoleWrap Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} Please kindly advise if I have done anything wrong or if I miss anything. Thank you. |

As far as I understand the error messages, the problems arises form the security system of your computer. The files to be executed are not digital signed.
Try to install with admin rights.

Thank you so much for your response. So you mean that I should uninstall then reinstall while logging in as admin?

Exactly! You may get a box which asks for permission.

If you install it for "all users", not.

Hi Rolanzo
1) Problem : I saw the log file that you attached and it show following message . " VMSetError: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes" You need to switch on hardware virtualization from BIOS . This is one of prerequisites as mentioned in README file http://openfoam.com/download/txt/ope...dme_v1612+.txt Pre-requisites: --------------- 1) Hardware assisted virtualization should be enabled. If not already done, please enabled it from the BIOS mode (see below),then reboot your system twice before proceeding with this Installation. In Windows7, check if hardware-assisted Virtualization is switched on by running the Windows utility https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...d=592#filelist In Windows8 and 10 it can be checked via the Task Manager. 2) Solution: You need to switch on hardware virtualization from BIOS and need to reboot you system twice at least . Then uninstall all component of OpenFOAM installation as mentioned in README file and install in again . Thanks Pawan |
