Hi, I have installed OPENFoam in Win10 running as administrator. Now I am getting errors even using mkdir ... what should I do to get it up and running?

Many thanks

I say this because the first lines in you attached photo is related to access denied for some registry key.

Hi

I am completely new to OpenFoam. I have installed this on windows10 and installation went well. However I have realized that basically I am not allowed to do any operation in the OpenFoam directories, e.g. if I use mkdir or cp command I get a permission denied error. Any suggestion?

By the way, I have installed OpenFoam in a Docker container "running as administrator". Can this be the issue?

Thanks

Ok, my fault. It looks like there are no issues in the installation.

For future reference, the OpenFoam directory can be edited logging in as root (password reported in the pdf manual).

Tutorials must be copied to workDir to be run, e.g.

cd workingDir

cp -ar $FOAM_TUTORIALS/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity/cavity .

cd cavity

blockMesh

icoFoam

Quick questions, to make it easier to understand the context of your posts:
  1. Which specific version of OpenFOAM are you referring to?
  2. Which installation instructions did you follow?
