Hello Foamres,

I have been trying to install OpenFoam 1.5 on Ubuntu 12.04. I have found and followed instructions in this website:

https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/I...OAM-1.5/Ubuntu

I have done all the steps, however, I have got an issue not getting it to work. I am attaching the error that I have got and asking if anyone of you could guide to resolve the issue.

Regards,

Quick question: What does the following command give you?
Code:
uname -m
I ask this because I suspect that you might have missed the detail about which architecture to follow the instructions for. In other words, I need to know if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 installed, for which the answer is given by the command above.

Hello Bruno,

Thank you for your reply. Using the command (uname -m) has given x86_64. I hope this help you to understand the error.

Thank you again,

Greetings tareqkh,

Sorry for the late reply, but only today did I finally manage to give a quick look into this.

Please zip and attach the file "~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.5/etc/bashrc" to your next post, so that I can inspect the contents of the file. I should have asked for this on my previous post, but I was in a hurry

You can zip the file if you run these commands:
Code:
cd
gzip < ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.5/etc/bashrc > bashrc.gz
pwd
Then attach the file "bashrc.gz" to your next post. The file should be located in your own home folder, as indicated by the last command.

Best regards,
Bruno

Hello Mr. Santos,

Thank you again for your kind help and support. The problem has been resolved. I have just posted a question in the following link: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...r-problem.html - about the flow around a flanged diffuser. I was wondering if you could help me resolve the problem.

Kind regards,

Tariq

Sorry, but I don't have enough time in the next couples of weeks to look into this... and at a first glance, it doesn't seem to be something that I would be able to diagnose with my current level of experience.
In addition, you are not providing enough details there for helping you, which means that it will be very unlikely that anyone will be willing to spare 10 or more hours trying to figure out what you want/need
