I would like to know (I am very new to all these) if I did install well OpenFOAM in my ubuntu 14.04 (OS) laptop.

I have followed the instructions here

I've just installed OpenFOAM and ran the tutorial case cavity.
Something is not working good, and I need some help to know what should I do.

Now, for the initial question and for which you had also sent me a private message, you can attach the file "make.log.tar.gz" to your next post, so that I can have a look into it.

As for the latest question, the problem is that either you didn't run blockMesh first, or blockMesh simply didn't work. I suggest that you follow more carefully the tutorials chapter in the OpenFOAM User Guide: http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/tutorials.php

Last but not least: my guess is that the installation went well, it's just that you weren't following the User Guide

There are no errors in the file you attached. Everything should work properly. Keep in mind that OpenFOAM is all about the details.
