Dear OF users,

Truely speaking i am new OF user and I wanna ask you some questions about uninstallation of new version and install old version.

Actually, I have 2 pc and one of them i installed openfoam 2.1.1 and used cavitatingFoam solver. Everything is fine. But, For second pc during installation i saw last version of OF and installed 2.2.1. After that, when i wanted to run the cavitatingFoam i saw that there are some changes in the equations especially in the fvschemes between the versions as seen below with bold mark.

openfoam 2.2.1

divSchemes
{
default none;
div(phiv,rho) Gauss limitedLinear 1;
div(phi,U) Gauss limitedLinearV 1;
div(phiv,omega) Gauss limitedLinear 1;
div(phiv,k) Gauss limitedLinear 1;
div((muEff*dev(T(grad(U))))) Gauss linear;
}

laplacianSchemes
{
default none;
laplacian(nuf,rhoU) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(muEff,U) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(Dp,p) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(DomegaEff,omega) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(DkEff,k) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(1,p) Gauss linear corrected;
}

openfoam 2.1.1

divSchemes
{
default none;
div(phiv,rho) Gauss limitedLinear 1;
div(phi,U) Gauss limitedLinearV 1;
div(phiv,omega) Gauss limitedLinear 1;
div(phiv,k) Gauss limitedLinear 1;
}

laplacianSchemes
{
default none;
laplacian(nuf,rhoU) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(muEff,U) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(rAUf,p) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(DomegaEff,omega) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(DkEff,k) Gauss linear corrected;
laplacian(1,p) Gauss linear corrected;
}

But i did all settings for my calculations acc. to 2.1.1 version. After that i wanted to remove new version from the folder :/opt/openfoam221
rm -rf OpenFOAM-2.2.1 ThirdParty-2.2.1
and wanted to install 2.1.1 i couldnt do that even though i installed 2.1.1 version too. in my /opt folder i see both of version together.

what should i do to use 2.1.1 version and remove the 2.2.1 version.

Your help will be so appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

if you are insisting on removing your new version , you can remove it from synaptic manager or ubuntu soft ware center ( if you use ubuntu as OS)
or you can use following command:
Quote:
cd /opt
sudo rm -rf openfoam221
or
you can easily separate those installations with alias command in bashrc, then you can choose to run which one in terminal

Dear Nima San,

thanks so much for your answer. Yeah i used it and removed the 2.2.1 version of OF. Than i changed the bash file final row as;

source /opt/openfoam211/etc/bashrc

and now in the /opt folder i can see only openfoam211. however, when i tried this command
mkdir -p $FOAM_RUN

to check which version run case will be created. It shows still 2.2.1

and then when i tried this command

cp -r $FOAM_TUTORIALS $FOAM_RUN

it gives error like no such kind of directory bcs i already removed the files of 2.2.1 acc. to your advice.

so could you tell me that why it still creats the $FOAM_RUN of version 2.2.1 when i use this command mkdir -p $FOAM_RUN? and how can i change it?

thanks in advance.
