Adrien_B is on a distinguished road
Hi everybody (it's my first post),
I am using CAElinux2008 distribution and I try to instal PyFoam for ploting the residual error on FoamX.
I have read the wiki (http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Co...lation_as_root) but didn't not find any solutions (I am begginer on Linux !!), the shell respond "unable to open /usr/lib/python2.4/config/Makefile (No such file or directory)".
How can I instal this library ?

Thank in advance
Adrien

It's a long time since I tested CAELinux so I'll have to do some guesses here.

Just checking: you are acting as root (not as the caelinux-user or how is the default user called in CAELinux)

Obviously the Makefile is looked for by the setup.py-utility is not present on this system. In theory it should be sufficient to move the stuff from the bin directory to some directory that is in the PATH and the PyFoam-directory to a place in the PYTHONPATH. For details on this see http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Co...a_regular_user
