Hi ! I'm a beginner on both cfmesh and snappyHexMesh. I started first on Snappy and quickly faced boundary layer deletion problems. Due to my complex geometry, I turned to cfmesh which is efficient for boundary layers addition but it destroys my trailing edge. Is there any suggestion to correct this problem ? Check the pictures attached to see the problem. I've tried to refine the mesh (31M cells ) but it didn't solve the problem.

Hello,

cfMesh is a bit particular about surface edges, normally they get lost in the stl file. Are you using a .fms file in this case? It is the preferred for cfMesh. To obtain it, you can use the following command:

surfaceFeatureEdges -angle <<angle>> fileName.stl fileName.fms

You will then use this file in your meshDict. Play around with the angle to see which best captures your geometry. If you are still finding imperfections, you might have to work with the global cell size and the boundary cell size.
