Dear Foamers,

I am currenly working on the impact of fouling on tidal turbines foils. Because of the hydrodynamical stall created, I can't use classical vortex methods that use Kutta's condition to generate their vortex grid/particles. Full 3D LES or RANS simulations are not an option because of the calculation time and the number of configurations I have to test.

That's why I am looking for a coupled RANS/Vortex Method code. I made some research and found the mention of a grid vortex particle method in OpenFoam. But I can't find it.

What I am looking for here is some resolution ideas. Did any of you heard about vortex method in openfoam ? Does non-grid code exist in OF ? Can I couple a grid model with a non-grid model using OF ? Do you have any other advice/experience related to my problem ?

Thanks,

Best regards.
