Hi Niels,
thanks for your response. I have openFOAM 2.4. I just copied contents of 0, constant and system in a seperate directly within the designated folders, then ran the blockMesh command, checkMesh and then interFoam. It showed an error about the name of P file in the 0 folder to change it to p_rgh. I did it and then it showed this error about waveVelocity. |

Hi Khalid,
You have to execute the Allrun script. Also, it is important that you do not move the case, since the relative path to the waves2Foam directory is important for correct execution. Kind regards, Niels

Hi Niels,
Thanks for your help. the problem was that the waves2Foam was not picking the proper files for the tutorials. I sorted it out. Khalid |

Problem running waves2Foam "waveFlume" tutorial case

Hello Neils,
Thanks first of all for your Wave Generation Toolbox. I succeeded with the installation of waves2Foam on my computer. I just followed the instructions in this website. https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/waves2Foam. Now I am trying to run the tutorial cases in order to be more familiar with this library. In particular, I want to run the "waveFlume" case. I can visualize the grid in Paraview as well as the other control files. Everything seems that is fine, however when I am trying to run the case with the "waveFoam" solver, the following error message appears: ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~/OpenFOAM/ubuntu-3.0.1/applications/utilities/waves2Foam/tutorials/waveFoam/waveFlume$ waveFoam waveFoam: command not found Any advice or comment will be useful! Best Regards. C. Santiago. Last edited by wyldckat; August 25, 2018 at 10:05. Reason: merged duplicate posts |

Hallo C. Santiago,
The solver waveFoam is not distributed for minor versions of OpenFoam such as OpenFoam 3.0.1. You will have to create the solver yourself. Kind regards, Niels
