Hello
Can you help to fix this problem? Indeed I am using OPenFOAM4.1 and compiled Wave2Foam . The tutorial works well but when i run wmake in /OpenFOAM/ben-4.1/applications/utilities/waves2Foam/applications/solvers/solvers410/waveFoam$ The feedback given is: mkdir: cannot create directory ‘’: No such file or directory /opt/openfoam4/wmake/makefiles/general:132: recipe for target '/waveFoam' failed make: *** [/waveFoam] Error 1 I would appreciate your support! regard! |

Dear Jo, I first apologize bcz i don't have any direction to give regarding ur question. But you can help if you can. Indeed, I need wave2Foam for my masters thesis but i have failed to compile it correctly in OpenFoam-4.1. May you help? Which version are you using? The error encountered is posted above yours! I would appreciate! Thx. Last edited by wyldckat; August 17, 2018 at 21:56. Reason: Added quote to the mentioned post, given that these posts have been moved out of the old main thread |

Dear Ben,
I am using OpenFoam-4.1. This little workaround might help, even though there are probably more sophisticated ways of solving your problem: when you go to the waves2Foam/applications/solvers directory you will see that there is no folder for OpenFOAM-4.1. So what worked for me (and again this is probably not "best practice") was copying the solvers400 folder and naming it solvers410. To be honest it might be possible that this has absolutely nothing to do with your problem but I am sure you are happy for every hint regards, Jost P.S. you should be aware though that there are features of w2f that do not work on of41 (namely the wavegaugesAndProbes as far as I know) |

Hi Ben,
I downloaded w2f from http://svn.code.sf.net/p/openfoam-ex...her/waves2Foam as in the user manual ( https://www.researchgate.net/profile...oam-Manual.pdf ). As stated in the manual (Warning 1.1) the wave Gauges are not working on of41 apart from that I did not have any problems so far. Jost |
