Hi everyone,

I am currently modelling a Numerical Wave Tank (NWT) thanks to OpenFOAM using the toolbox waves2Foam. The solver waveFOAM allows to generate and absorb waves and also to track the free surface. My simulations run and I have great results!

However, I observe that the average wave elevation depends on the place in the NWT. In the generation and absorption zones, this is explained by the relaxation method implemented in the solver. But between these two zones, in the "CFD zone", the average elevation decreases linearly in function of the abscissa along the wave propagation axis.

I changed the size of generation and absorption but it does not have an impact on results.

Is it a problem you have already observed ?

Thanks a lot in advance !

Also, I am wondering if it is better to control simulation with a little Courant Number (maxCo) or a little deltaT (maxdeltaT) in controlDict ?

Thanks a lot in advance !
