Hello,
I am very new to OpenFoam/IHFOAM and programming. I apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong thread. I have a mac intel and I would like to learn IHFOAM using the GUI interface. My questions are: - does IHFOAM works with the latest openFOAM version 2212? On the Cantabria website (https://github.com/IHCantabria/ihFOAM), it is stated that it can run until v1806 but the website does not seem to have been updated since 2018. - in the case OpenFOAMv2212 works with IHFOAM and is already integrated in this version, should I install openFOAM on my mac with or without a docker (I found several options on internet but I am really confused by all the repositories available and different threads). - does the GUI interface is compatible with mac? I have read that I need UBUNTU but some other people said they were able to do so on a mac. What about if openFOAM is installed with a docker? Some of my questions might sound trivial but I am quite confused and lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

Hi Lise,
related to your questions: 1) We have not tested yet IHFOAM-GUI with OF-v2212; because we are full of projects and as this one does not have any financial support it is always at the end of the TO-DO List (or for us, Lista PA'HACER) . 2) Install OpenFOAM following: https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop...r/doc/Build.md 3) I do not have a mac, I recommend you to use Ubuntu to run the GUI or the simulations (you can use a virtual machine). Best, IHFOAM Team

Is anyone still using the IHFOAM GUI? I'm running Ubuntu through WSL2, but curious to explore the GUI if possible. I just can't figure out how to install it using the wsl system?
Any help would be appreciated! Cheers |

Hi Dave,
Yes, I/we know there is a group pf people using it quite succesfully. IHFOAM-GUI has never been tested in WSL2, but if OF works fine it should do it too. Why not using a virtual machine? Best, IHFOAM Team

Thanks for the reply. I might switch and try with a virtual machine. The problem I was having was how to install the gui in WSL once it's downloaded. When I was on a Linux machine it was straightforward but I can't find a way to run the installer once downloaded on WSL.
