Dear all,
Please find attached a link to my simulation case so you can check it if you are willing to help: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j8b...ew?usp=sharing The idea is to apply a load on a surface (load_teeth_lower) in a body that is fixed on another surface (support_mandible). The geometry comprises 2 spheres in contact, with 2 different materials (one on each sphere). I summarize here what I did so far: 1. Mesh geometry with blockMesh 2. Mesh geometry with snappy (I did this with OF9 release, as it was easier for me to set up the two different regions to be meshed) 3. I got my whole domain meshed (both spheres and surrounding volume, as a result of blockMesh). 4. As I am only interested in stress/strain on spheres in contact, I have used the procedure explained here: Background Mesh in snappy with multi domain (CHT) (BTW seems that it is working) 5. I remove everything related to "air" region 6. I rename the corresponding files to include " version" and then switch to foam extend 4.0 (if not, you will get an error requesting the version number) 7. I rename my materials file according to cellToRegion file (on constant folder). A fast check in Paraview displays two different materials, one per sphere, so seems this step has been carried out succesfully 8. Run elasticSolidFoam (files in the link are ready to launch a simulation with foam extend 4.0) The solver starts but ends soon due to floating point exception. I realized that, even since the first iterations, max sigma and max epsilon are taking very high values and increase with each iteration. Anyone has a tip about what is going on? Why my simulation explodes because of high stress/Strain values? Will be glad to give more details if needed Thanks in advance |
