According to this thread:

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...us-values.html

yPlusRAS calculates wrong values for low-Re turbulence models. Could someone check that, please? Thank you.

Currently the low-Re turbulence models do not use the new nut/mut boundary condition method for specifying the wall-modeling and are hence out-of-date with respect to the yPlusRAS utility. We will update the nut/mut boundary conditions for these models for the next release. In the meantime it is possible to calculate the yPlus for these models using the method in previous versions of OpenFOAM.

Thanks Henry. How can this be done? Using yplusRAS from 1.5.x? Will this be the proposed way and give correct results? Thanks.

We have retrofitted developments from the next release back into OpenFOAM-1.6.x to support the calculation of yPlus for low-Re turbulence models.

See the boundaryLaunderSharma tutorial in which the appropriate BCs for nut are specified which supports the calculation of yPlus using the yPlusRAS utility.
