Dear Foamers,
some time ago I posted a problem with interFoam simulating stratified, smooth flow of water and air. The velocity profile is quite different form the analytical solution. After a long discussion with the advanced users of OpenFoam at my university in Freiberg / Germany I am not sure anymore, if it is a simulation error of mine or a bug. Please visite the following thread http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...interface.html . As I need this simulation for my diploma thesis, I would appreciate your help very much. Thanks, Anja P.S.: I made a new test for the transformer oil. I changed the location of the interface in a way, that the average velocities in both phases are the same. Thus, the interface is located at the maximum of the velocity curve and the shear tress is at a minimum. The same test with air - water combination did not work out that well. |
