The tutorial "bed" for twoPhaseEulerFoam crashes under 1.6. Nu such problem with the 1.5 version.
The problem seems related to turbulence, but I have not pinpointed it further. I am seeing the same behavior with my own work. TwoPhaseEulerFoam-cases which ran under 1.5 are more unstable and crashes frequently in 1.6. I started a thread on the issue at http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...tml#post238702. I changed the default value of "E" used in the wall-functions to a more standard value and now this case runs to completion. This change is now in our OpenFOAM-1.6.x git repository.

The same problem I simulated with Fluent and MFIX, which gives similar results, but those of twoPhaseEulerFoam are total different and unphysical concerning the solid-phase velocity field. Has anybody an idea what might be the reason? regards, N.S. |
