Hi,
I have the following problem: when I want to use paraFoam to view the results from a tutorial case (for example the cavity case of the icoFoam excample, after running blockMesh and icoFoam), the following happens: paraFoam starts and a message box appears: "A reader for 'cavity.OpenFOAM could not be found. Please choose one:" Then there is a list, and I select: "OpenFOAM files". After that, the program crashes and I get this message in the shell: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::length_error' what(): basic_string::_S_create Aborted Do you have any ideas? |

All openFoam and paraview things are installed.
I tried cavity tutorial. blockMesh icoFoam They worked very well. parafoam -case $FOAM_RUN/tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity The paraview 3.6.1 is poped out, but how can I open data? there's no file. (e.g.cavity.foam) so I made a cavity.foam with no contents. ( just using vi ) Opening that file, paraview just ended up. Is there anybody to help? |

Hello,
did you tried to compile paraview and the PV3-Reader as described in the Readme-File? 7 Compiling Paraview 3.3 and the PV3FoamReader module A version of Qt 4.3.x must be installed to compile ParaView. The compilation is a fairly simple process using the supplied buildParaView3.3-cvs script that has worked is our tests with other packages supplied in the ThirdParty directory, namely cmake-2.4.6 and gcc-4.3.1. Execute the following: cd $FOAM_INST_DIR/ThirdParty rm -rf ParaView3.3-cvs/platforms buildParaView3.3-cvs The PV3FoamReader module is an OpenFOAM utility that can be compiled in the usual manner as follows: cd $FOAM_UTILITIES/postProcessing/graphics/PV3FoamReader ./Allwclean ./Allwmake After I had done this, paraview worked at me.
