Dear all,
I've been trying to generate a 3D fluid mesh around the ship. First, I need to subtract the ship hull from the original fluid geometry and then mesh it. Right now, I only have the .stl file of the ship hull with all the internal structures (e.g. stiffeners) inside it. The way I can think of is to strip all the internal structures and generate a solid geometry with the bare hull surface. Then import the geometry into Solidworks. Next, use the Cavity functionality in Solidworks to do the subtraction. However, transforming the ship structure (.stl format) into solid (probably .step format) involves a lot of effort especially for complicated structure. Is there any more straightforward way to do this? For instance, would there be any software that could subtract a solid with a surface body in stl format? |
