dear all,
i'm looking for a while now for a solution to possibly hex-mesh a cylinder with embedded cuboids that have different mechanical properties than the cylinder matrix. However, up to now I could not find any hex mesh algorithm that is able to mesh such a problem. As the cuboids are more or less randomly orientated inside the cylinder, partitioning does not work. What I have so far are the geometries and structured hex meshes for the cuboids, plus the cylinders surface mesh around. Now I thought I could somehow define the cuboids as holes (with closed surface) in the cylinder geometry and mesh this volume with voids. Also to no success so far. If someone has an idea how to potentially tackle such a problem, I'd be very grateful! |
