What is the main differences between finite volume and finite element?

There is many differences e.g. FVM is conservative and ..

Hi
Usually FEM has been used in solid mechanics. However it has been used in fluid mechanics but it seems it is more capable for solid mechanics.
FEM needs more computational efforts.
