Hello!
For a project I need a downloadable CFD code that simulates a isotropic homogeneous turbulent flow field. Also I would be happy with just data form DNS or other simulations, because I need the velocity field to model a combustion. Does anyone of you know where I could get something like that? Thanks! |

The accompanying CD has a spectral code on it, however the book is really expensive and I found it to be not too good. The generation of valid HIT data can be a real pain in the neck, so seems like a big project you are working on! cheers and good luck, I'll be happy to help any further! |

Openfoam has some tutorial with it.
BUT, given that DNS requires tons of cpu time to get some results, maybe could be more cost-effective to search the literature for the results. |

Yes I came across rogallos code during my literature research. Could I get a suitable velocity field out of it and in what form is the velocity field supplied? You're a great help, thank you!

Well, you will get an incompressible (i.e. div free) u,v,w field from that, but I guess you would have to compute the pressure from that via a poisson equation.... I'm not sure if an incompressible field is what you are looking for, I know there are some methods to get a compressible field from an incompressible one (one by G. Blaisdell).
The code is available as source code (F77, I think), so you can just modify it in any way for your output requirements. |
