Hi; I'm a new user that want to use FOAM. During installation after decompress of files, I encountred a problem with bashrc in readme file.

I can't understand the meaning of source (because I'm newer in the use of linux). my directories is : root/home/OpenFOAM. Can anyone help me to resolve this step?!! By the way, if I install a new software in linux, how can I find it (i.e, it's path) in comparaison with windows (we use programs).

Thanks

Hi Guys,

Before you carry on, I think it is necessary to get a basic book on Unix/Linux and find out a bit more about the operating system. These are all totaly straightforward things and in order to use FOAM well, you need more Unix knowledge.

Moreover, from your message, it seems ou are trying to run FOAM in the root account, which you should definitely not be doing.

Finally, there is a decidated FOAM discussion group hosted by CFD-Online (thanks, Jonas!) - reading the archives will offer some help as well.

Good luck,
