Per Fick's law, diffusion mass flux (kg/m2-s) between two points with concentration gradient of species A in a mixture of species A and B is: Mass Diffusivity (m2/s)*concentration gradient (kg/m3-m). What is the measure of the diffusive force though?
For example, for a certain density difference in the medium, a measure of buoyancy force is gravitational accleration*(difference in density) Thus when both diffusive and natural convection forces are in play, how do I decide which one is stronger? |
