Dear Friends,

I am modeling two phase flow using Eulerian model. The problem is that I am getting velocity of fluid even where volume fraction is zero.

for your kind information, I am using wall shear UDF in this simulation.
Please guide ,what can be reason for this and how to set velocity of fluid zero at the place where volume fraction is zero.

Thanks,

Rakesh

Hi Rakesh,

Is the fluid phase supposed to be incompressible? If yes which velocity-pressure coupling algorithm do you use ?

Dear Leflix,

Sorry for late response.

Thank you very much for your reply. yes, I am considering incompressible multiphase flow .I am using pressure based Fluent 6.3 Sover.

regards,

Rakesh

Hi Rakesh,

first of all the volume fraction of a given cell can never be zero, since even in the case of very dense particle packing there is always small interstices of fluid.

do you know which velocity-pressure algorithm is used in Fluent to handle the volume-averaged Navier-Stokes and continuity equation?
