Dear friends,
I am at present working on the mesh generation in a casting component for CFD analysis. The casting component is quite intricate and also complex in such a way that, given a mesh size for the whole component, mesh generation cannot be done in one single go.I used a mesh genartion software named GAMBIT. Can any high end mesh generation softwares (ANSYS/HYPERMESH/PATRAN/NASTRAN/PRO-E/CATIA)can help me in this case to do mesh generation in one single go, so that I can use the mesh for analysis part. I have heard that HYPERMESH / ANSYS are good structural analysis softwares. Can HYPERMESH generate mesh inside any model for doing CFD analysis? ( solid mesh). Any info regarding this problem will help me a lot. Thanks in Advance friends. Karthik |

Hi, Have a look at grid generator developed by IITZeus group @IITB. (Commerical operated as Zeus Numerix)
http://www.aero.iitb.ac.in/~iitzeus This grid generator have in built full fledge Geometric Modeller and CAD interfaces. Complex geometries can discritised in short period of time using this software. It has both 3D mutilbock structure grid generation and 3D unstructure grid generation capabilities. Also lots of option for grid clustering, quality, smoothing etc which are essential for CFD simulations are avaliable. Regards, sandip -- http://www.aero.iitb.ac.in/userpages/sandipj |
