Cash-based programming

I do not know if this subject has ever been posted to the forum. Anyway, has anybody have an experience in so called cash-based programming for large-scale computaions arising in CFD or related areas. Of course, compilers of cash-based architectured mashines which are majority now (PC's, most of workstations) take care about your code themself attempting to keep your active operations in the cash memory which is fast. Nevertheless you can help the compiler by artificially coding in a special manner. So, I would appreciate to learn about anybody's experience in this way of codding.
