Many people say that the given free stream values (especially omega value) affect the solution. Some authors actually proved that fact. The prefer to use Baseline model of F.R. Menter, that blends k-omega and k-epsilon according to their performance; where they work best. Here are some useful references; - AIAA 93-2906 'Zonal Two Equation k-omega Turbulence Models for Aerodynamic Flows', Menter,F.R. , 24th Fluid Dynaics Conference - AIAA vol:30, no:6, Technical Notes, 'Influence of Freestream Values on k-omega Turbulence Model Predictions', Menter,F.R. - 'Turbulence Modeling for CFD' Wilcox,D.C., Chapter 4.5. 'Application to Free Shear Flows' - 4.5.3. Sensitivity to Free Stream Conditions.
