I was wondering what some "indicators" of vortices are in CFD (bar streamlines and velocity vector plots!)? For example, how can you tell by looking through pictures of pressure distribution or the turbulent viscosity around a wing can you tell if vortices are present? I was looking through a few of turbulent viscosity with what looks like pockets of higher and lower regions of turbulent viscosity being shed from a wing, does that indicate vortices?
Thanks! |
