Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get information regarding the flame speed in an air-propane and an air-methane premixed flame as a function of mixture fraction (stoichiometric ratio)?

Thanks for any help.

I will not give you direct reference, but I'd try www.sciencedirect.com to find article with measurements data.

I remember the plots from every other combustion book (like FA Williams -Combustion Fundamentals, Warnatz Maas Dibble Combustion: Physical and Chemical Fundamentals, Modeling and Simulation, Experiments, Pollutant Formation)

If you're looking for equations, then I guess (sorry, I've got the books home - not with me) Irvin Glassman Combustion, or Thierry Poinsot, Denis Veynante, D. Veynante - Theoretical and Numerical Combustion

John, have you seen this reference:

Goettegens, Mauss and Peters, 1992, "Analytical Approximations of Burning Velocities and Flame Thicknesses of Lean Hydrogen, Methane, Ethylene, Ethane, Actetylene, and Propane Flames", 24th Symposium on Combustion, The Combustion Institute, pp. 129-135.

Dear David,

Thank you for you kind help. I have been led to believe that Bradley published a review or something of that nature at a Symposium on Combustion at The Combustion Institute in the last 10 or so years? Does anyone know what this work might be? Again, it contains buring velocity data on propane and possibly methane.

Thanks David.
