Star Cd format output for 3D meshing using gridgen

Hi there
I am using gridgen to make structured mesh for a 3d hydrofoil. my goal is to solve the problem for a incoming flow using a in house solver. The input mesh file for the solver is in star-cd format which is available in the gridgen. my problem is the orientation of the 3D structured grid that im generation is not following any pattern. so it has become impossible for me to control the boundary condition in the solver. I could not find a pattern in the grid topology. i need to know how can i fix the orientation of the cell in gridgen or how i can make structured grid so that the orientation is same for all my cells. sayeem |

To change the IJK orientation of a structured block (3D mesh) in Gridgen, go to Block, Modify, pick the block(s), and Align I,J,K. You can change them one-by-one or all at the same time. Enjoy, Chris |

i hope that you do understand the problem that i have mentioned beforehand. as for the solution if you want to change the orientation of a block you have to modify the axis now for physical domain the axis is ksi eta and zeta. once you pick a domain you can modify the orientation by clicking change ksi eta and zeta then all you have to do is pick your axis as you want. there will be 2 orientation for each case (+)ve and (-)ve direction. chose the one you need. Once you specified the orientation for one block you can apply the same direction to other block as well. hope this helps. if not i will try to explain even more sayeem |
